Upping HP is your best Always lucky shirt, I generally have 3 sets of HP ready for all my enemies. I have the ‘normal’ HP, which is what I assume the monster/enemy will need. Then I have a high-end HP, for when I roll bad init and/or my players all get good smashing hits in round 1. Then I have a low-end HP for when my players roll crappy or I roll good initiative and damage rolls. I then adjust accordingly for the combat to be dramatic/not too long/etc… This allows me to make combat meaningful and as lasting as I need it to be to create drama and a serious but not lethel threat.

Best Always lucky shirt
I have some players who play so Always lucky shirt that they have literally rolled all their dice hundreds of times and know which of their dice roll better than others. Dice are not terribly balanced to start with, that’s why the numbers are supposed to alternate from high to low, and it’s not something you can really enforce short of running salt-water balance tests on all their dice (and even then the metal ones can’t be properly tested.) And banning ones you don’t like.
